Jumbotail is an operator of an online B2B marketplace and a retail platform that simplifies food and grocery shopping. They are a food-tech platform that provides full-stack services for kirana stores, including storefront delivery and payment collection. My Role

My Role

At Jumbotail, as the sole product designer, I played a key role in improving the user experience across our Fintech, Supply Chain, and Customer apps. This resulted in:


  • Successful launch of the credit facility service: I designed the user experience for the credit facility service, which provided vital working capital to our customers. This led to a significant boost in customer retention and acquisition.

  • Enhanced user experience across all apps: My focus on improving the user experience across all three apps (Fintech, Supply Chain, and Customer) likely contributed to increased user satisfaction and overall business growth.

Credit Onboarding

Credit Onboarding

Our fintech application helps small business owners increase their purchasing power, enhance their sales and helps them with their working capital requirement by offering them a line of credit. 

Credit Customers were initially being onboarded through a third party service. As a result, Jumbotail's control on the onboarding process, the conversion improvements, and the data on where customers are dropping off were limited. The turnaround time to convert a customer took around 3 days to complete

A few challenges we faced -

  • No formal underwriting process being done leading to multiple defaults

  • Manual process of onboarding users on to the fintech platform. Time consuming and waste of resources

  • Inability to track the person availing credit making the recovery process tedious.


Steps taken to address the above -

  • To design a self onboarding application with minimum friction to onboard users

  • Capturing key details to create an underwriting engine and assess credit worthiness

Digitising Upstream Supply

Digitising Upstream Supply

We have multiple supply chain products within Jumbotail that are required for different processes. Within this ecosystem, I have primarily worked on enhancing the experience and introducing new features in products dealing with logistics and core warehouse activities.

We built a system for our internal store customers so that they have end-to-end control over all their purchases. A one stop shop for creating purchase orders and gaining complete visibility and accuracy into their receiving processes.

A few challenges that we faced -

  • Customers had to place orders manually and received them on a fixed schedule than based on their requirement.

  • Many time customer don't remember how many qty's of each item were placed - check receiving against orders

  • After receiving the goods, the store stock was not updated in the system, SKUs etc

  • No handshake - No tracking of dispatch vs received goods other than verbal confirmation


In this digital era, managing supply for a kirana shop through manual processes among everything else a shop owner has to deal with, was not at all feasible for scale. We had to re-imaging the entire flow by going completely digital and making the entire supply chain experience seamless.
